Dr. Dia Kamel

Dr. Dia Eldin Kamel is an Associate Professor of Pathology and Pathology Theme Lead at ARU’s School of Medicine. He also serves as a Consultant in Histopathology at the Mid and South Essex University Hospitals Group’s Department of Pathology, with a special interest in Dermatopathology. Additionally, he is the Lead Pathologist for the Skin Cancer network across the South East of England. With extensive experience in surgical pathology and a strong academic background, Dr. Kamel has been actively involved in research projects in collaboration with Imperial College London and ARU, focusing on skin pathology, Breast Pathology, lympho-reticular pathology, and renal and urogenital pathology.

Dr. Kamel’s impressive journey began with his graduation from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, in 1990, earning an MBBS degree. He further pursued his academic endeavors at the University of Oulu in Finland, where he obtained an MD PhD in 1994. Since moving to London in 1997, Dr. Kamel has been dedicated to his career as a Consultant in Pathology, successfully completing his specialty training and obtaining qualifications such as FRCPath and CCST in 2002. His contributions extend beyond clinical practice, as he actively participates in research, teaches medical students, and holds leadership positions. Dr. Kamel’s expertise, combined with his passion for improving patient care and advancing the field of pathology, makes him a highly respected professional in his domain.
